First off…Is Your Business Verified on Google Maps?


We cannot upload your virtual tour unless you have a verified listing on Google Maps. How can you tell? It’s simple. Do a search for your business by typing in your business name in the search bar. On the Google search results, towards the right hand side, you should see what we like to call a “Knowledge Graph.” A knowledge graph sits on the right hand side of your search results, and holds all kinds of information about your business including your hours of operations, contact details and photos. You, as the owner of the business may recall having a Google postcard sent to your address with a verification pin to which you entered into your Google My Business account. Upon entering the 5 digit code, your business was verified. If NONE of this sounds familiar and you do not see a knowledge graph on your Google results page, then give us a call so we can help you set one up.

Preparing for Our Arrival


Walk through your own business: A great way to get an objective view of your business is to walk through your business through the eyes of a first time customer. That- or perhaps you could ask a friend to stop by and get their feedback.

  • What aspects of your business grab your attention? Pay attention to these areas so you can highlight them during your tour.
  • What are some eye sores that you are not so proud of?  Maybe an area that often gets neglected, but you have grown accustomed to. Well, your visitors may notice it right away, and so will our cameras.  Be sure to spruce those areas up.  However, if there are areas that need major improvements that you just can’t get to, let our photographers know.  We may be able to Photoshop it out for you to conceal it. Just let us know.

Touch-up is not possible for virtual tour


  • Schedule your landscaping company(Street view integration only): Have them come out before our arrival to trim bushes, mow lawns and leaf-blow.
  • Clear up your parking area free from cars(Street view integration only): Have your staff park elsewhere and not directly in front of your business. We understand you can’t control where clients park but just do the best you could. It will be the first area we shoot so it really won’t take up too much time. Once we move past the entrance, the parking lot is yours again!
  • Wipe down windows or your glass door that face the parking lot if you feel it has a lot of streaks or hand prints. Also, please don’t wait for our arrival to start cleaning. Arrive ahead of time or do it the night before. Our photographers are on schedules and these kinds of things could create a late situation for the next shoot of the day.
  • Seasonal Cleanup: If it’s the fall season and you have a lot of leaves, consider getting the parking lot leaf-blown before our arrival. Same goes with snow- make sure parking lot is shoveled for maximum appearance.
  • Holiday/Seasonal Decor: If it’s close to the holidays and your store is decorated for the occasion, consider taking it all down for your shoot. That is of course, if that’s the route you want to take. We have many repetitive customers who want it displayed, then have us come back out for an updated tour- to which we offer special ‘second-time’ visit rates. We can actually ‘save’ your seasonal virtual tours after their shot and upload them during the holiday seasons.
  • Garbage Canisters: If you’re located within a shopping center, you may have a nearby garbage canister close to your entrance. Some business owners choose to remove or hide them. If you’re okay with them being displayed, be sure that it’s not overflowing or toppled with garbage.
  • Public Ashtrays: Rid ashtrays of any cigarette butts.
  • Schedule Around your neighbor’s events: If you’re in a shopping plaza, or have other businesses nearby, it may be a good idea to check to see if they are holding any kind of events that will draw attention to their store. Things such as huge banners, balloons, crowds of people, etc… may distract from your tour.

Inside Preparation Tips


Once inside, there are all sorts of small details which can make or break your tour. Remember, the camera eye picks up everything and so will your prospects.

  • Consider hiring a cleaning company and have your work area professionally cleaned before our arrival. If your in the Atlanta area.
  • Put away any papers on surfaces
  • Set your computer screens to display your company logo. You can usually use your default image viewer. From there you open your logo image and set it to full screen view.
  • Empty garbage canisters that are visible
  • Tidy up any cables
  • De-clutter and organize your areas
  • Add decorations to look nice if needed
  • Have a chalkboard on a wall? Write an engaging message!
  • Replace any burnt out light bulbs
  • Clean any reflective surfaces

Bonus tip: For Business/Office Virtual Tours: Sometimes it may help to ‘stage‘ your areas so that viewers get a sense of what services you offer. For instance, if you teach a yoga class, you may want to lay out all your mats, light up candles, etc… If you’re a dentist, you may want to activate your screens, lamps, x-ray machines etc… This will help the viewer get a peak of what services you offer.
